Following feedback from our holiday clubs, there is a demand for some interesting activities for older children who would no longer need holiday club care but would still enjoy outdoor activities with their peers. Mojo Active is keen to offer ad hoc courses and activities tailored for older children within the school holidays to keep them active and also help them to learn new skills, and where relevant, gain qualifications. We hope to offer a variety of courses but will need sufficient numbers to run them.
SUMMER HOLIDAY DATES: 15th Jul - 3rd Sep
This is a wonderful day out for our more adventurous / adrenaline seeking holiday clubbers! We will minibus the children to the stunning Ilfracombe coast and they will experience rafting and paddle boarding through coves and inlets, exploring and climbing through caves and gullies, leaping off rocks/cliffs and swimming in the sea. They will be with fully-qualified instructors at all times.
Wetsuits, helmets and flotation vests will be provided (however you can bring your own wetsuit if you prefer)
A fun, physical team session around the Mojo orienteering course with team challenges at each orienteering post. This involves a log carry, tug of war, lots of teamwork, strength, determination and problem solving. If your children love a challenge, then they’ll love tough runner! For children aged 10 years plus.
After the success of last Summer’s kayak course, Mojo Active is excited to offer another 3 day kayaking course where the children can gain a British Canoe Personal Performance Award: Paddle Start for beginners and Paddle Discover for those with experience. The course is run in partnership with Discover Paddling from the 29th - 31st May.
Through play and creativity the children will learn about water safety, essential kayaking skills, equipment handling and river knowledge. They’ll spend the days kayaking on the beautiful Rivers Avon and Wye and will be fully supervised by Mojo Mark (a kayak and canoe instructor in addition to many other things!) and Mike who runs Discover Paddling.
Mojo Active is excited to offer a 2 day sailing course for secondary school-aged children, with the option of the Stage 1 introductory course or, if they completed this last year, they can do the Stage 2 course. The course covers launching and recovery, steering, parts of the boat and basic sailing and will take place at the Llandegfedd Watersports Centre resevoir. Not only will this be great fun, it also offers a fantastic introduction to sailing.
This is a great day for those interested in climbing, fitness and improving strength, no matter if you have climbing experience or not. At Bloc climbing, you will spend the day learning, practicing and perfecting your indoor bouldering technique under the careful instruction of climbing enthusiast, Mojo Mark. This will be a great physical day, focusing on strength, balance and co-ordination in addition to challenging problem solving and resilience. All equipment is included and we will minibus the children to and from the Bloc climbing facility.
This will be a brilliant climbing experience day for children aged 11 years +. The children will be taught basic knot tying and equipment skills, enjoy a climbing session in the morning, followed by some more fundamental movement techniques in the afternoon. All equipment is included and we will minibus the children to and from the Undercover Rock facility.

“My normally sofa-sitting teenage son really enjoyed the Mojo kayak course - it's so great to have a holiday option for older kids which isn't deemed "uncool"! Thanks so much Mojo”
